Cumberland Valley Rising has lost a peace-loving activist today. We are sad to report that Gerry Schultz, CVR co-chair and long-standing member, has died. Gerry was soft-spoken and passionate about Mother Earth, the fight to raise the minimum wage in Pennsylvania, and showing up – always with his love, Linda, at rallies and other CVR events. If you wanted a great political button or slogan, Gerry was your guy. He coined the “Perry is no patriot” slogan used by the 10th District Network in their quest to unseat Scott Perry.

Cumberland Valley Rising (CVR) is a non-partisan, non-profit grassroots organization that believes in freedom and equal rights for all. CVR works to provide information and resources to help members engage in local politics, arranges educational opportunities for members and the community, and provides support and advocacy for groups affected by bigotry and hatred. Above all, CVR members are dedicated to being a visible progressive presence in the Cumberland Valley.
